Garza was the best choice I could’ve made. A person came out in 1 day to quote out some pretty significant work load and I got the pricing back I think 1 maybe 2 days after that, broken out in a way I could easily understand for each job. They didn’t nickel and dime me at all and went above and beyond. For example, my intake vent was too close to the ceiling for the crown mounding, so they simply dropped it down an inch or two and rescrewed it so that it would fit cleanly and look great.

I’ve used a fair number of contractors and there’s usually something that happens that makes you regret something such as if an “issue” arises that results in an added cost, or if something wasn’t as planned, or if the attention to detail just wasn’t there on something stupid like a line of caulk or cornering or something small that you hope to never encounter because you’re paying for it to be completed correctly. I felt GREAT when Garza finished. They cleaned up everything really well, dusted and wiped down everything to ensure our home was back to being our home as soon as the job finished.

They worked 8-5 everyday for 4 days and seemed genuinely happy to do what they do. I was genuinely happy to have our home projects knocked out flawlessly.

Highly recommend. I’ll be using them in the future for sure.

I rarely submit reviews except for what I consider exceptionally great or remarkably bad work and/or customer service. I’m delighted to have discovered Garza Contractors via Yelp, at a time of need, and happy to report both work and customer service were in my opinion, excellent.

I contacted 9 contractors during the holidays and they were one of two companies that called me back with a 2 hour window, and got the work done almost immediately after I reviewed the proposal. I have since used them for another project, and they again completely the work and made a slight preference modification without any hassle.

They run a tight operation with excellent correspondence, follow-through, good workmanship and competitive pricing. I’ve found my contractor/handyman service and got to say, it’s a relief.

These guys are a real class act! Unfortunately the short time frame I needed didn’t work with their schedule, but the patience and time they took to help me even though I was not going to be a client was unprecidented. Much appreciation guys! It’s no surprise that you are as busy as you are. Your clients are lucky! Hope we can do business in the future if I need anything else.

We’ve had Garza Contractors do a couple of projects at our house in the last 3 months, including an emergency ceiling repair on 24-hour notice, and we couldn’t be happier.

They show up on time, work fast and clean, and everyone we’ve dealt with is extremely professional and courteous. Soraya is great about communicating the cost and schedule.

The Garza team was extremely responsive and easy to work with – Soraya follows up meticulously and even picks up the phone at 730 at night! We were very pleased with their work and will use them again – they are also reasonably priced.

Garza Contractors were great to work with. They were quick to respond when I initially reached out and very patient. There were some delays in getting the work started, but that was because of me. I just wanted to add an update to my original post. Garza has done additional work on my place, most recently on my kitchen and dining room. I needed more storage room and they had a cabinet custom made for me that greatly exceeded my expectations. It looks absolutely amazing! I cannot stress enough what’s great work they do and always with the utmost professionalism. If you need a contractor, then I highly recommend Garza.

Highly recommend! Garza installed an egress window in my basement. They did an excellent job. I was very impressed by the quality of their work. The price was reasonable as well, which is hard to find in DC.

As said in my previous review, we were so impressed by our kitchen renovation with Garza Contractors last year that we invited them back. We just had them finish: (1) bathroom renovation including adding a shower to a half bath, (2) door installation, (3) basement bedroom finishing and painting, and (4) exterior foundation sealing and waterproofing.

Once again, we are more than happy with the quality of the work done by Miguel and his guys (especially Gustavo!). Not only were they hardworking, friendly, and responsive to questions and suggestions, they were also very conscientious. When we did the foundation sealing and waterproofing, the guys had to dig up some plants along the side of our house. We asked them to put the plants aside so we could replant them, but the workers went above and beyond and even replanted them for us! That is just one of many examples of how exceptional they are. You couldn’t ask for more in your home contractors!

We have recommended them to our friends and coworkers and look forward to working with them again in the future.

Garza is by far the best contractor we’ve ever worked with. We recently finished a kitchen renovation and are very happy with Miguel, Soraya, and their workers. They are friendly, honest, responsive, hard-working, and they did an excellent job. Miguel really goes above and beyond to keep his clients happy and satisfied.

First, we were happy that Miguel and his workers were always on time. (Many contractors are late, but not Garza!) We liked Miguel from the moment he first arrived to give us an estimate. He was on time, friendly and knowledgeable, and gave us good suggestions on the kitchen. Garza gave us a reasonable quote about 2-3 days after the estimate. (Some contractors take a long time to come up with a quote, but not Garza.) We had consulted with 4 different contractors and preferred Garza by far.

Second, we were very impressed that Miguel and Soraya responded quickly to emails and inquiries. Soraya always replied to my emails within 24 hours and Miguel replied to texts within minutes. When working with contractors, good communication is really key, and Miguel and Soraya excel on this front. We have had previous contractors who take days to respond (if they respond at all), and we really appreciate how diligent Garza is about communication.

Third, Garza simply did a terrific job with the kitchen. We had them install new cabinets, new appliances, granite countertops, and travertine backsplash. Everything went well and according to plan. The workers were on time, friendly, and polite. They were quick to let us know if there were any issues, and they were also more than happy to accommodate our requests and answer our questions.

Fourth, Miguel was extremely conscientious about issues that came up. We mistakenly thought that the cabinet handles were crooked when it turned out that the workers had waited a day before adjusting the cabinet doors. When I texted Miguel with photos that night, he called immediately and said he would come out the following day to inspect their work. After he came to see their work and the workers had adjusted the doors, he contacted me to make sure everything was okay. In another case, the stove we ordered was defected and the oven misfired. I texted Miguel a video and he came out first thing the following morning (even though it was on Black Friday) to inspect it and recommended we contact the manufacturer.

To sum it all up, Garza did a wonderful job with our kitchen renovation, but they really stand out above other contractors because of their excellent communication, timeliness, and conscientiousness. We will definitely contact Garza Contractors for our future home improvement projects (and we have many: door installation, bathroom remodeling, finishing an extra room, etc.). We highly recommend Garza Contractors!

I too feel incredibly lucky to have found Garza Contractors. Not only did they show up on time, get in touch with us quickly for an estimate, and stay in touch with us, they did excellent work. This is the second time I have worked with them and I have absolute trust in their work and consultation. During this job, they installed new ceramic tile over an existing tile floor post basement flood, and did fabulous work.

I highly recommend their work. You will not be disappointed.

This review is way overdue. Miguel and his crew have done a number of jobs around our home, and we love the work he has done! I can’t even remember where we started, but his team completely remodeled our master bath, installed a beautiful driveway, painted several rooms, laid stone over our front walkway, you name it… they can do it. Professional, excellent communication, great prices, invaluable advice, and very friendly and hard working staff.

We had a great experience with Garza. They came quickly for the estimate and started work the next week. Knowing it was our only full bathroom, they stayed late and even worked on weekends and labor day to get the job done quickly. Will definitely use them again.

Sorry, this review is long overdue. I contacted Garza at the beginning of December to repair loose siding on our house. They came out a day or two later to survey the work and give us a quote. Two of their guys came out, stripped the siding all the way down to a workable starting point and then properly stretched it all the way to the gable of the roof. Part of the issue was that some of the nails in the plywood sheathing came aloose. The contractors repaired the sheathing before reinstalling the siding all in one very cold December day! I plan to engage them about a remodel job later this year. Thanks!

Update:

I had a hard time getting the guy who did my hardwood floors last year to respond to my texts and calls to come back out and install hardwood on my interior steps. I sent an email to the folks at Garza and they not only gave me a quick and reasonable estimate, they were able to come out four days later to bang out the job and do an excellent job in the process. It appears that they subbed the job out to Rios Flooring. As long as Garza guaranteed the work, that’s perfectly fine with me.

“As a do-it-yourselfer who has partially renovated 3 bathrooms, I called upon Garza Contractors for a complete floor to ceiling demolition and renovation of a 95 year old bathroom. They did a beautiful job. They planned well, gave good advice, skillfully tiled and finished the walls, ceiling, and floor, replaced the plumbing and lighting/vent fan, attended to any adjustments needed, and accomplished the job in an astonishing 3 weeks for a fair price. We then contracted them for our second, 30-year-old bathroom and saw the same dedication and diligence. They take pride in their work as if it were their own home, taking time for details above and beyond what was in our contract. I highly recommend them.”

They also re-tiled our kitchen and did a wonderful job, even staying late to trouble-shoot a tricky door jam situation. It’s been 6+ months, and the bathrooms are both still beautiful and function great!

Amazing service from this group. Wish I had found them sooner! I’ve had some terrible contractors working on my house and I was starting to lose hope I’d find anyone reliable. I have been meaning to write this review for a very on long time. Garza Contractors is amazing. They gutted my bathroom and redid it just the way I wanted it. They asked me questions along the way to make sure I was happy with the end product, and made suggestions when necessary. I live in a condo and they were patient with my condo association despite some difficult times. I loved their quality of work, their patience, their complete investment in making sure their customer is happy, and their professionalism.

I’ve been doing business with Garza Contractors for over 6 years; the level of service is second to none. Miguel and Soraya Garza, the proprietors, have impressed me as honest and trustworthy. Two qualities sadly missing from today’s businesses but the opposite in my experience with Garza Contractors. I know I’m in good hands when I hire Garza from the integrity of its owners. In many respects, Miguel/Soraya conduct their business very similar to my Dad, a retired contractor for over 40 years.

Garza Contractors has completed a considerable amount of work, increasing value of our home: updating the kitchen and baths; remodeling our deck, updating the our basement; woodwork/molding, and painting.

Garza Contractors is a full-scale general contractor; there’s so much the company offers… Much like my Dad, Garza is a jack of all trades. I wish I had met Miguel/Soraya a year earlier when I was searching for a replacement-window company… URGH. Unfortunately, the company hired, a popular replacement-window company out of Baltimore, failed to live up to its name, hype and promises; as a result, I paid dearly… Lessons learned!

Never again, however, as my wife and I are extremely pleased with the work and level of service of Garza Contractors. We are blessed to have Miguel, Soraya and the Garza Team as friends, our goto Contractor. We look forward to an even greater relationship with Garza Contractors, as our contractor of choice, when we sell our current home and upgrade to a larger home.

So, my kitchen was a bit outdated and in need of some love. If you’re like me you’re reading this as you do research to begin your project. I researched companies, colors, fixtures, designs, appliances….. for months (about a year actually). You should already know Garza Contractors have very high ratings on most of the platforms you’ll search. Those ratings played out in person. Soraya, MIguel, Lito, Shelby, David, and the entire crew are all very professional. Everyday of the project they arrived within the window discussed and worked 8 hour days (many days 10-hour days). If they were going to arrive late Lito told me. Each morning he described what they were going to work on that day. And I was in control of ALL of the decisions (more than I even thought of). They were respectful of my property and cleaned up (as much as possible in light of the destruction) along the way. I can’t say enough good things about these guys, but I’ll try because if you’re like me, dealing with contractors is not always a pleasant experience.

Lastly, lets talk about my kitchen. WOW!!! Now I’ll have to hire them again to bring the rest of my house to the level of my kitchen. I had a farmhouse kitchen installed. Of course they have to make room for it by cutting into the cabinets (I had the cabinets refaced/restored). The two doors underneath the cabinets were too big. Lito cut them somewhere in the middle and put them back together to make them the right size. You can’t even see a seam, nail, nothing! Now that’s SKILL. He said he nailed them back together….how? Again, that’s skill. The best part (besides my fabulous new kitchen) is the time frame. The time frame they gave me (regarding how long it would take) was exactly how long it took. I didn’t think they were gonna make it, but they did! Great job. I’ll definitely have them back for more work.

Just hired Garza again for our roof replacement. A fraction of the cost of other estimates, and the work was done while we were out of town so we didn’t even have to live through the noise and mess.

This is honestly my first review on Yelp, but I wanted to reach out to the renovation community and say how impressed I was with Garza Contractors. They were prompt, professional, quick and gave me everything I wanted and more! I’ve had so many contractors on my house, but this one is the best by far!

We worked with Miguel and team on repairing one of the floors in our house after flooding. We solicited quotes from three different companies and chose to go with Garza Contractors due to (a) raving Yelp reviews and (b) a very detailed estimate providedby Miguel and Soraya (none of the other two companies cared to write everything down up to moving the furniture and putting it back in place). Miguel is very knowledgeable of his business and provides great advice. Miguel went with us to the store to select materials and provided valuable advice on what we should be choosing and why. Even though we were working with the budget from the insurance company, Miguel treated it as though it were our own funds and suggested ways of saving money while increasing the value of the house post-renovations and overall look. They finished the entire job (800+SF of full floor remodel, baseboards, repainting walls, updating kitchen cabinets, repairing dry walls) in 8 days. Miguel and his team are very hard working and Soraya (Miguel’s wife handling all email communication) is beyond polite and friendly.

Miguel was very patient with us answering any questions we had about the renovations and explaining what they were going to do an why. We are in LOVE with the way our floor looks now and are extremely happy with the job Garza Contractors have done. I would recommend their work to anyone without hesitation as I know you’ll be in good hands and will love the end result of your project.

We were very pleased with the work and the employees of Garza Contractors. We had 160 square foot kitchen addition added to the back of our house and the entire house re-sided.

We were prepared for this to be a stressful experience but even with a few surprises like the needed heavy-up it all went pretty smoothly. The two guys were here most Saturday’s working and were very hard-working nice guys. Greg did a good job keeping us informed, being responsive and was willing to help get the cost down to our budget.
We would use them again and recommend them.

I had a great experience working with Garza Contractors! I got estimates from three different contractors and I thought Garza’s rates were the most competitive. Communication with Soraya/Miguel (the owners) was easy through e-mail.

Ezekiel and Valentino (the ones who actually did the work in my condo) did a great job on all the projects I had done in my small DC condo. They were professional and friendly and arrived on time every day. Each day they cleaned up the work areas so the condo was “live-able” even during the renovations.

After the work was completed, I had a small issue with a switch not working, and they came back the next day to get it fixed right away. I thought that was really professional, especially considering they were already paid. I would highly recommend and will work with them again on future projects!

As a first time home buyer, I heard from pretty much everyone to beware of contractors…they would upcharge you, add expenses and delay work. I found Garza Contractors on Yelp and I am SO GLAD I DID! (1) Competitive pricing (2) Quality work (3) All-around nice people.

The team leader was Guillermo, with Gustavo and his capable crew doing the core work. Guillermo is unbelievably professional and patient, explaining what was going on and next steps.

The staff was polite and kept me informed and updated on the progress. Here’s the kicker…they started when I was in town but I had to leave halfway through for a trip out of the country. I made some mistakes in the prep (I am a renovation moron), such as picking lighting fixtures that were too big and choosing a wood stain that was actually for outdoors rather than indoors. Rookie mistakes that they dealt with professionally and completely. Being out of the country, I couldn’t hop out and buy new lights but they did. Beyond that, they only charged me for the purchase price not their time. They even FaceTimed so I could see what was going on.

The work included pulling up the carpet, sanding and staining the hardwood floor (that had to be fixed in several places), painting all the interior walls, tile work, patching and fixing drywall, replacing all lighting, replacing bathroom hardware and replacing an electrical panel. Unexpected issues, like a hidden rusted pipe, were fixed after providing me with an estimate (reasonable) and photos.

I came back from my trip to a beautifully renovated home. And I didn’t worry about it (much) while I was on travel. I trusted Guillermo, Gustavo and their team to take care of things.

I started looking for a contractor with the idea of having a relationship. I have that with Garza, confident that work with be done well, with straightforward billing and no surprises.

We hired Garza Contractors to upgrade our bathroom (circa 1986) and to lay concrete pavers in our patio (it was a muddy and weed-infested quagmire after the April showers, and we wanted to make the space usable). They did a superb job! They worked quickly, were reasonably-priced, no cost overruns, no time overruns, and all around a pleasure to work with. Sebastian and Valentine’s work ethic and attention to detail were admirable. Miguel made himself available to answer all my questions. And Soraya was responsive and helpful in modifying the proposal as necessary. A+ — I highly recommend!

Hired Garza to renovate our attic – the whole works (electrical, insulation, and completely rehabbing the space.

Working with them on the job quote was very easy – they were responsive and fair on price as we worked on our vision for what needed to be done (it was our first major home renovation, so were we still feeling things out). We worked with Memo for the job quote and as the job foreman and had a really positive experience with his customer service.
The only qualification I’d make to their work is one that is probably applicable to all contractor work/home renovation project; there were a few things we changed our minds on as the work was already underway. It’s obviously more difficult to price-match or negotiate on changes mid-way through your project. As a word of advice, plan and scope out your job as much as you can before you start any home renovations!

The Garza crew was great and very trustworthy. Like I said, it was our first major home project, so leaving the key (via lockbox) was a big deal for us with people in and out of the house all day long! I’ve got to give a shoutout to Valentin and Sebastian who spent the most time on the project, especially the detail work, making sure things turned out perfectly.
For the work itself, they stuck EXACTLY to the timeline they promised; they estimated 4-5 weeks start to finish, and the whole deal was completed in exactly 4 weeks.
Valentin did an awesome job translating some of my wife’s ideas (through pictures we found online) into the exact specs of what was possible for our house.

Overall, we are extremely happy with the work and we would definitely recommend Garza’s expertise and quality work on home renovation projects to friends, neighbors, and fellow Yelpers.

I thought Miguel and his team were great. The toilet overflowed in our condo causing extensive damage resulting in the hardwood floor and carpet needing to be replaced. Miguel and his staff were very patient as well as accommodating in completing this job. When they were done, everything looked great. I would highly recommend them

We worked closely with Miguel and Soraya to have our front porch rebuilt. Miguel gave me a reasonable estimate that was competitive with other offers I had received. What I liked most about working with them is that they are very patient, honest, and friendly. Also, Miguel always seemed very knowledgeable about the work. I learned not to take that aspect for granted as other contractors we talked to seemed surprisingly clueless. The contract they originally provided us was a little confusing, however, they made up for that by calmly working with us to ensure we were on the same page. In fact, they even invited us over to their house to discuss the project further in their living room! Also, they were always available to discuss the work over the phone.

Sadly, we ended up having to post pone the project due to building permit problems with PG County. However, the permit issue highlighted their strengths even further, as Miguel offered to give us back our down payment in full, despite all the work they had already done. Had we hired any other contractor, I’m confident they would have been far less easy to work with in that type of situation.

Another thing I want to point out is that they are one of the few contractors that actually lives in the D.C. area. For some reason, a lot of contractors, especially those found on Angie’s List, are located 2-3 hours out of town. This proximity makes a big difference when it comes to being able to communicate in person before the work begins- especially if there are some specific details that need to be discussed, or if the contractor needs to make multiple visits.

For these reasons, I highly recommend Garza Contractors.

Just had Miguel and team do some work on our basement (painting, tiling, adding a bigger closet to a bedroom, and adding hardwood on our steps). They did a great job at a fair price. Miguel did a great job setting expectations on price, time, and quality (some parts of the walls he was painting had been [poorly] worked on by the previous homeowner). Soraya is also great; she was always incredibly kind and polite.

All the workers were always respectful, taking their shoes off right inside the door, cleaning up after themselves, etc.

They worked with our (sometimes crazy) schedule and we trusted them to do some of the work while we were out of town.

I would (and will) definitely use them again!

Extremely honest, knowledgeable, and friendly, and their work was excellent. They priced out a few different things for me and were willing to give a ballpark estimate over the phone based on my description instead of wasting everyone’s time by insisting on visiting before even giving any sort of price range.

They ended up widening an opening and installing a new window to make a room in our basement a legal bedroom. They were quick, cleaned up everything perfectly, and the results were great!

I hired Garza Contractors for two jobs: a deck repair and replacement of two patio sliding doors. Whoever originally installed the deck (with a previous owner) did a terrible job and didn’t use enough support beams. This made the deck that was screwed into the house pull away and damage the house’s outside wall. No flashing was installed either so rain water would drip between the deck and the house and leak into the outside walls. The deck flooring and the top of the railing had no been maintained in many years and also needed replacing.

Miguel was one of only two contractors who would even take on the job, as other contractors just looked at the deck and said, oh, that’s bad. His solution was very simple but structurely sound, which is which I picked his team for the job. They just finished the repairs and the deck looks beautiful (I’d take pictures but it’s been raining). The carpentry work is excellent. No worry about rainwater leaking into the house. The deck is safe to walk on and feels a lot more sturdy. I will have Miguel’s team paint it in a couple of months after the wood dries.

Miguel also quoted me a very competitive price to replace two sliding doors. When his team pulled out the old doors, they saw the wooden frame had rotten because no flashing was every installed. Miguel decided to do the job right and rip all the bad wood out and replace it. Again, the finished work is beautiful and I don’t have to worry about rainwater getting into the walls.

All in all, I’m very happy with the work. They might not be the cheapest quote you get but they won’t be the most expensive either. They are also quite fast at scheduling the work and complete it in a very timely manner. No waiting around for weeks to be done.

Garza just finished a full bathroom reno at my house, and, though the process was a bit longer than expected (see below), I was very pleased.

Miguel and Soraya really are nice, honest, straight-forward, and hardworking. They are also very responsive. Miguel would answer texts at night, and Soraya would email back within hours. From the start, Miguel’s was the most straightforward, honest, and transparent quote. I had Garza do a small project first to see if I liked their work, and then, as soon as the small project (backsplash) was done, I immediately hired them for an entire gut bathroom reno.

Miguel worked with me to make sure my design made sense, and helped me truly understand why certain things would cost more/less, be more/less feasible, and so on. For a quick example, we spent probably an hour in person discussing where the shower head should go, and then later over the phone. He had personally done it to make sure it felt comfortable but wanted to make sure I liked the exact placement. He was totally willing to move it, too, if I didn’t like the original location we had picked out.

As with anything, new problems and costs come up, but with each one, he explained the needs very clearly, made me feel involved in the process, and gave me choices.

I would probably give a 4.5 if possible, because I found it confusing to figure out what was his responsibility to buy, and what was mine. I bought most of the parts myself, and asked him to check the list and room with all the items before getting to work. It turns out the plumber needed more parts than I had originally purchased twice, which increased the price and completion time.

I cannot rave enough about Garza Contractors! I asked my realtor for a recommendation and I could not have been happier with Garza Contractor’s service, price and the quality of their work. They were a dream to work with! They are completely trustworthy, very reasonable, incredibly responsive and do great work!

I needed to do some renovations, including a kitchen remodel, to a house on the east coast before putting it on the market to sell – while living on the west coast. I started the work with a different contractor and halfway through I fired this contractor because I realized I had been gouged price-wise and had a number of trust issues with this other contractor. I turned to Garza Contractors and am so glad I did!

Miguel Garza and Soraya Velasquez are a husband and wife team. She is in the office and Miguel is out on the road. Any time I would contact them, whether it be by phone, text or email I would either get right through or get a response within minutes. On a quick trip into town, I met with Miguel to discuss the scope of the work. I quickly received a detailed written proposal, was presented with samples and catalogs and was able to make decisions in the short time frame that I was in town. Along the way, Miguel made a number of recommendations of things that I might consider taking care of that I had not thought of. He was my eyes at the project and I never once felt that he was trying to up-sell me. In fact, there were things I thought I needed to do that he talked me out of. I trusted him implicitly and was often surprised at how low his pricing was. They completed the work in a very timely fashion. Once the initial work was completed I kept adding things. They were able to squeeze in extra projects at a moment’s notice. This is especially important when trying to get a house quickly onto the market. At one point we had a miscommunication about some tile work and Miguel offered to completely change it at his cost, no cost to me. I wound up keeping it the way it was but his attitude of “whatever it takes to make a client satisfied” was so refreshing.

Doing big house remodeling projects is stressful but is exacerbated by living long distance from the property. I felt that I was in such good hands with Garza. I wish I could hire Garza for my house on the west coast!

We just finished a kitchen and dining room renovation with Garza and we are very happy with the results. We switched the location of the kitchen and the dining room, took down a wall that separated the kitchen from the living room, and added on a small addition. From the beginning Garza quoted us a very fair offer, and worked with us on our timelines. We did a lot of the front loading paperwork before the job began and we worked with an engineer to have signed plans. We also ordered the new materials for the roof and the instructions for installation. For the permits we worked with an architect that Miguel recommended and we were very happy with her.
We purchased everything for the job ourselves. Our timeline did get delayed a little because of a miscommunication on when we should have ordered our windows. However that was the only hiccup we had with ordering everything ourselves. Miguel was very easy to get ahold of and anytime we had a question he would answer the same day. His attention to detail and constant communication is why I would recommend Garza to anyone who is looking for home renovations. We plan to use Garza again in the future and have already recommended them to our friends and family. It has been about a month since we have finished renovations and we are so incredibly happy. Miguel and his crew were efficient, clean, respectful, hardworking and really made us feel like we were in good hands.
The only thing that I would critique Garza on is the plumber that Miguel subcontracts made mistakes in our kitchen several times. It wasn’t anything that couldn’t be easily fixed but several things on the job had to be redone or fixed. However everything that Garza themselves did was beautifully done.
If you are thinking about using Garza for your job I would highly recommend them.

We hired Garza Contractors to renovate our kitchen. Miguel and his team proved to be responsive to all of our (many) questions, thoughtful project managers, and honest custodians of our space. They started the work while we were away and were very clean throughout the entire process. We ran into delays due to an inspection snag and Miguel helped connect us with architects that could help expedite a solution.
The onsite project manager assigned to our project was Gustavo and he was excellent. He kept us informed of progress and managed other tradespeople that were coming to do work onsite.

We found Garza Contractors using Yelp for a bathroom remodel and the reviews you find here are spot on. The estimator showed up on time, listened carefully and took notes as I explained what we wanted, and offered a very fair estimate for our work the next business day. We had to make a small change to how we wanted to tile the shower, and Soraya quickly was able to amend our quote with no delay to the start of the work.

The remodel went great, and I really have to commend the work team on going the extra mile. Whenever the team encountered a hiccup, whether it was changes to the wiring for our electrical switches, or swapping out faucets they found were too old to reuse, the guys handled it quickly and produced great results. I will definitely be using Garza Contractors for additional remodeling work in the future.

These guys are great! After communicating back and forth with Soraya, we finalized the estimate and scheduled work for the following week. While on the job, the team noticed something that the original builders did incorrectly and made sure to fix it as a part of the job.

These guys did an outstanding job of converting a basement half bath to a full bath. I enjoyed working with Soraya, Miguel, and Gustavo . They were very professional and largely stuck to timelines. The quality of the work was excellent. I would highly recommend them for any contracting job, large or small.

We needed to have the footer of a tiled shower rebuilt as it was crumbling, but did not want to have the entire shower redone (unless the existing damage necessitated it). So this was a relatively small job in the scope of home repair/renovation, but one that needed to be done correctly or else it would only make things worse. Garza Contractors were prompt about making an appointment for a free estimate and came in at a very reasonable price. The work was also scheduled and completed promptly, requiring the steps we had already discussed. We always felt like we were being dealt with honestly and fairly. The qualityof the work was excellent and we were very pleased with the final result.
Additionally, there was no attempt to “upsell” us; if we had decided to have more work done at that time, I am sure they could have handled it, but I also appreciated not being pushed to do more — again a sign to us that they were interested in being honest and fair with us. I would definitely use Garza again, whether the job was this size or larger.

Garza recently replaced our deck boards and completed various exterior repairs to our house. Their price was very competitive with other estimates. They did an excellent job in a timely manner and added in the little touches beyond the scope of the contract which we didn’t expect (reinstalling the screen door, replacing some extra siding shingles, etc). If we need a contractor for future projects, Garza will be the first place we call.

We hired Garza to remodel a sunroom. Miguel was very easy to work with, and his price was reasonable. Work entailed replacing one sliding glass door, installing a double awning window in place of another sliding glass door, widening an entryway, refinishing an interior wall with multiple surfaces including brick to have one uniform finish, replacing/matching Hardy board on the outside, and repainting. The room had its challenges, including transitions from one room to another that were off, doorframes that were not square, etc., but we discussed with Miguel using both his suggestions and our ideas. We were very pleased with the result and will no doubt call Garza in the future!

Garza reconstructed by kitchen cabinets, repainted the cabinets, salvaged my back splash, and essentially modernized my 50 plus year old kitchen in a very cost effect way without forcing me to invest in new kitchen cabinets.

The staff arrived on time every day, were courteous, cleaned up after they were done, were meticulous in their attention to detail, and had a great work ethic.

Garza did outstanding work for us! Very professional, hard-working, courteous and honest, as well as helpful in explaining their work, going over what was done, including showing us pictures they took while doing the work (for parts we could not see after they were done), and making sure we were completely satisfied. We had our balcony and deck railings replaced as well as the whole balcony flooring redone and had them find/fix an occasional leak issue coming from around our balcony door. We wanted a contractor that was experienced enough to be able to do all the work, and Garza seemed like our best choice. Boy, are we glad we chose them–we couldn’t be more pleased! Will definitely use them again if we need more work done, and happily recommend them to others.

What can I say? Garza contractors are awesome! This is the second project I have used them for and once again just an outstanding job. I needed painting done in my house in order to place on the market. Nixon, Miguel’s painter, is truly an artist. He paints the way someone would do painting there own home. He removed face plates, sanded, chipped, and anything else to do a professional job and my home looks great. Several rooms had darker colors and you would never know my living room was once painted a dark chocolate.
Every room is now bright and looks great.

I was in need of some work done in my basement due to a flooding issue caused by a storm in June. One company came in to clean up the mess but did not provide restoration services. I had to schedule everything on my and needed someone to repair the damages including sealing the window that had leaked.
I don’t use Angie’s list because I don’t require the services of contractors often but I looked on yelp and they provided a list of contractors able to perform the tasks needed to get my basement back in order for guests from out of town to stay there. I was very skeptical at first because the first person I called did not return my call as promised. I saw that Garza had high marks and gave them a shot. The owner and his project manager arrived on time and inspected what needed to be done. They promised they would seal and repair the damages in a professional manner and meet my time frame.
Garza contractors showed up on time and began to work. At first I didn’t think they knew what needed to be done as the owner and project manager were not on site but by the days end you could see they knew what they were doing and were very professional. Total time onsite, one and half days. The project was completed and they even went the extra mile to plant grass where the work was done on the outside. After all the work was done, the completely painted both areas where the work was performed and now can’t tell the difference between the newly painted areas and the old undamaged areas.
Both the owner and project manager visited the site to make sure all was well and to answer questions I may have had.
Garza Contractors is a very professional group and I will be using them again in the future for other projects. I would highly recommend them to anyone for general contracting projects.

Garza has done fabulous work for us over the last year or so. We hired them to do a few odd jobs to fix up our townhouse to sell like repairing and painting our deck, fixing light fixtures in the bathrooms, and repairing and painting the trim around our front door. They were friendly, efficient, and very reasonably priced for the work we requested. Once we moved, we hired them again to come paint the entire inside of our new house, replace the carpet on one floor, and do other odd jobs (e.g., reinforce our kitchen island, stabilize a broken stair railing, put up a new door to the basement, etc.). We are SO happy with the result. The guys who have come to our house are always very respectful of my 1 year old, trying to work around her nap time with their loud work and being careful to make sure gates are closed for her safety. I highly recommend Garza for any remodeling work you have and we plan to use them for our work, including fixing up our new deck as soon as this spring! I worked closely with Memo Montoya on pricing, scheduling, and project updates and he helped make the entire process of remodeling (which can be pretty exhausting) very manageable. Garza gives free estimates and worked with me to adjust the projects as I had new ideas to include or pieces that I needed to cut because of budget constraints on my end. These guys are the best! 🙂

These guys were extremely punctual, transparent and detail oriented – all things I value, and which stand out when dealing with contractors. They finished when they said they would, were extremely courteous and polite when I was around. The job was a list of little things, with lots of details (which lights are dimmers and which aren’t, where to paint and not paint – like the jam with my kids’ heights all marked off). They caught virtually all of it. When a snaffu in our houses wiring caused a trip that I didn’t understand the night they finished, Miguel showed up himself to explain what happened. While there he caught three tiny, tiny things his guys missed (SUPER minor – one just a spot of paint I had missed) and had them at my house at 7 am the next morning to touch up. They were done in 20 minutes in time for us all to get out on time.

This was our first time working with them, but I am really happy to have found someone we can do other work with in the future.

Miguel and his team were great. They were able to do a project in our kitchen that multiple other contractors had no solution for. We wanted to increase the space for our refrigerator and oven because the previous owners of the house had a small oven and fridge. But we didn’t want to completely redo our entire kitchen to achieve this. They were able to cut the cabinet next to the fridge in half to make it a single door cabinet instead of two door and this freed up the foot of space we needed to fit in a larger fridge. They also had to cut counters and do some floor tile work to make this all work. They ran into one unexpected electrical issue but were able to fix that cheap and quickly. Project was done in two visits. I highly recommend them.

I am 100% satisfied with Garza Contractors. They recently completed two projects for us: a floor tiling project, and opening up our entry way by taking down 1/2 a wall and creating a nice ledge. They completed the work a day earlier than estimated and it is gorgeous. Miguel and his crew were polite and professional, and the outcome of the work is perfect. They also stayed within the estimated cost, and when they encountered discovered more electrical work would be needed to make the project a success they discussed it with us first. I’ve used Garza Contractors for 2 bathroom renovations, a hardwood floor installation, a built in bookcase installation, and some small projects around the house, and they have been great the whole time. They always went above and beyond to make sure we were happy, and they cleaned up everyday to the point we wouldn’t have known they were there, had there not been more work completed. I’m about to use them for a third large bathroom renovation, and I have no worries at all!

This is the second time we’ve used Garza Contractors, and they were the first we called because our original experience was so positive. Our house was broken into–the thief kicking in our front door. Soraya had Miguel come over as soon as he could to look at the damage. We thought we’d need an entire new door, but true to his previous style, Miguel was very honest in his assessment. We thought we’d need an entire new door but Miguel explained that there was no damage to it, just the frame. We thought we’d have a super expensive fix but instead, Miguel’s estimate came in much less than that (less than half of what we expected!)
Ezekiel and Auner were our crew for this job and they were great to work with. We had a toddler visiting and he was fascinated with them and the guys were so sweet! The work was thorough and they were great cleaning up after themselves (fixed door frame, installed storm door, added new lock). They came back the next day to finish up and make sure all was secure for us–and even mounted house numbers over the door for me as a favor. I feel more secure in the house since they were here–and you can’t put a price on that!

Another great experience with Garza Contractors, who recently completed a master bath and master bedroom renovation for us. We couldn’t be happier. This was the second time we hired Garza – the first time was 2 years ago for a complete kitchen upgrade. We did not even consider asking other contractors for estimates, that’s how happy we have been with their work. Miguel came to our house and gave us estimates on this work as well as several other jobs we will consider for the future. Similar to the last time, their pricing was very reasonable.

Fortunately for us, the same workers (Ezekiel and his brother) who worked on our kitchen 2 years ago did the work on our bedroom and bathroom. They couldn’t have been nicer and better at what they do – they were patient, meticulous, willing to listen and make adjustments when I changed my mind about something, and extremely neat, cautious and considerate. The quality of their work is exceptional. We are once again thrilled with the end result – new moldings in the bedroom and new paint on the walls, ceiling and trim, installation of a new wall separating the bedroom from the vanity area with a sliding pocket door, installation of a new vanity, sink, mirror, lights, fixtures; also, removal of a rotted wooden floor in the bathroom, installation of new sub-floor and marble tiles in and out of the shower, new recessed lighting and new fan, and painting throughout.

When we hit a snag (the drawers on the vanity we ordered were too close to 2 door moldings and could not slide all the way out) Miguel and Ezekiel solved the problem by stripping a thin piece of the existing molding and reinstalling and painting it – problem solved! And same with the threshold to our walk-in shower – the previous contractors had installed the threshold incorrectly, which allowed the water from the shower to run outside onto the floor (which caused the rotting). We did not want to do a complete shower redo so Miguel suggested another, much less expensive solution that involved installing new marble bullnose tile onto the top of the threshold and angling it into the shower, then finishing off the outside of the threshold with matching marble tiles.

Miguel and his team have a can-do attitude and do whatever it takes to make their customers happy. We highly recommend them.

Finally, the crew worked Monday through Saturday to get our project finished as quickly as possible.

I don’t normally write reviews but I felt that Garza and his team deserved some recognition. We had our kitchen redone, removing an interior wall to open up the space as well as adding an egress window in the basement. His guys finished in record time and didn’t cut corners but really were careful and thorough. His men were pleasant (Gustov and Valentin and others), polite, VERY hardworking and always cleaned up at the end of the day. As expected with renovations, minor mishaps and unexpected surprises did occur but they were dealt with reasonably and courteously. They priced their work fairly and really did a great job. I would definitely call them again.

Garza contractors did an outstanding job on a basement remodeling project. Our basement was a mess after a pipe burst, flooding most of the basement area. Miguel and his crew came in and gave an honest estimate of the work. Compared to other contractors that came in for an estimate, Garza was by far the most realistic. At no time did we feel as though Garza was trying to inflate the price of the work, or create additional work so that they could charge extra.

Also, during the process, his crew did a great job of seeking our input on certain aspects of the project. You have an idea in your head of what you want, but consultation with their professional expertise really helped make our vision a reality. The Garza team’s suggestions were spot on.
